here is what being with your back to a psychedelic wall and deciding you got to go diy makes you do. raw, crisp, and simply honest 115 bpm organ techno with a distorted soul. two takes of it featuring a left-handed chord intro so surreal the exposition will softly draw you in before you realise you just got caught in drum loop heaven. this is a white label release with music played from the heart and live recorded straight to l/r on an old used cassette tape. mastered and cut by matt & barry at alchemy in london. the record comes in a black cover with a handwritten and burgundy riso printed 120g paper inlay.

new to the stay underground it pays gang, the eighth release on the label comes from none other than octo octa! you know him from his prolific run on 100% silk, and more recently for his ep on gerd jansons running back label at the top of the year. the man from brooklyn serves up 4 slices of that u.s. experimental house sound we love so much. on the a side, we have two versions of octo octa’s melancholic title track, requiem for the body. both as good as the other, it’s gonna be split for a lot of listeners on which is better. while both versions share certain elements, the second plays down the long keys of the first versions in favour of some stabby chord patterns. either way, proper 4 a.m. business!on the flip, we get a bit more ethereal with times two (loose version). simple yet effective, this one has a lot of atmosphere with those delayed vocal cuts over that late 80s bassline. closing out the record is when home. this one is a bit of a stomper at first until it brings in the lighter synth elements halfway through. someone, somewhere will have an epiphany listening to this track. if its you reading this, send in the results on the back of a postcard. all in all, another killer release that feels straight at home in the stay underground it pays catalogue

geneve based pascal viscardi bring his rich and sweltering textures to saft with his first ep for the spanish label. the swiss producers paradiso ep is already the 9th installment and by no means an odd addition to the family. strongly rooted in soulful sounds with firm aesthetics and blissful melodies, this release is exactly what saft is all about. from the moment the pad in the title track starts riding, paradiso immediately hints to a deserted paradise.
